Parental Complaints Procedure
It is recognised that parents/legal guardians are the primary educators in a child’s life and as such from time-to-time concerns may arise which they may need to engage with the school. It is expected that engagement will be timely, courteous and resolution focused to ensure that the important relationship between the parent and school can be preserved and respected. It is expected that all parties concerned will engage proactively.
An updated parental complaints procedure for 2023 onwards has been ratified by the Board of Management and uploaded to the policies folder of our website. A table of each stage in the process can be seen below. .

Remote Learning Resources
- Cúla 4: Excellent for younger pupils for Irish vocab – very child friendly. There are also videos of your children’s favourite cartoons here as Gaeilge which would be useful to watch occasionally to keep up with Irish
- Doulingo: most suitable from 2nd class upwards. Excellent app. Tests your child Irish ability level at the start and they work away at their own level for 10mins daily
- Mathduel: For tables. Fun and interactive
- Starfall: For spellings. Again, very child friendly and useful to keep spellings progressing without feeling like schoolwork
- Jolly Phonics App: to keep up phonics learning for infant classes
- Dolch words Apps: (there is a wide range available): for the development of sight words
- Nessy Apps: for reading for pupils with dyslexia or difficulties
- PinkFong: Digital stories for infant classes. Excellent and engaging
- Khan Academy: Useful for maths for older pupils especially
- Kahoot: for general knowledge and quizzes
- Toontastic: probably the best app ever for digital storytelling – pupils can devise their own digital story, picking a range of characters, settings, even musical background. They plan a beginning, middle and end to their story and can record their own voices to tell the story
- Puppetpals: similar to toontastic – useful for younger pupils. They can record themselves telling the story also
- Lightbot – Coding app – super for all ages.

School begins at 9:00 and finishes at 1:40 for the Junior and Senior Infants, 2:40 for all other classes. Please ensure your child is in school in time for roll call. Absences are recorded from 9:10 unless the school been informed to say the child/children will be late for class. Parents must come to the front door of the school to sign for all late arrivals/early leavers e.g. leaving or collecting children for appointments etc.
Parents who wish to speak with a member of the teaching staff must make an appointment convenient to all, please call 042-9373604.
Communication e.g. school notices, is usually conveyed with a letter once a term via the eldest in the family. Teachers will correspond with parents through email, Seesaw or the child's homework diary, parents may also use these methods. The school also uses the Textaprent system & emails to relay information. Please inform the school if your contact details change. Children are not permitted to take telepone calls.
Absence should be explained with an email, it is not necessary to call the office beforehand. The school is obliged to report absences of 20 days or more to the National Education Welfare Board.
The school uniform must be worn at all times during the school day and when children are representing the school. The school uniform consists of dark grey trousers, skirt/pinafore, navy jumper, light blue shirt and tie.
On PE days only, children can wear navy tracksuit bottoms (No Logos)and runners.
Please mark all jumpers, coats, etc., teachers cannot be responsible for the children's belongings.
